Zoom University
Alma Mater
The Zoom University Alma Mater I had a ridiculous amount of fun putting this little project together after being holed up in isolation for 20. Days. AHHH. The score and parts to this are available, free for any person or group who might want to perform it. Email me!
Oh where were you
When you were told
That it was true
That schools must fold
And that in lieu
Of classrooms old
Online at Zoom
Meant that we’d be consoled
But at first
were we consoled?
NO
Did we feel controlled?
YES
Did it feel like parole?
YEA
But still school bells tolled!
And in the process
Found like minded
People from across the world
In Facebook chats,
From prats to frats,
Professor’s cats,
and on-fire flats
Forced out together
These birds of a feather
All took to the weather
And weathered the storm
When they’re together
On Zoom they’re airborne
For one glorious moment
Your mic is
Muted
Can you
Hear me
For all to whom that word home meant
Something different
We weren’t that different
Or far apart at all.
So we all (temporarily) said farewell
To our alma maters
And all that matters is
we’re all in this together
